
Beavers Go East for Drake Relays

CORVALLIS, Ore. – After a new school record and 11 personal bests the last time they competed, the Beavers are headed to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Relays. The squad will be competing at Drake Stadium Thursday to Saturday.

The distance carnival will see Oregon State on Thursday at 2:58 p.m for the 1,500 meters and Molly Latincsics will wrap the first day of competition at 6:29 p.m. with the invitational section of the 10,000 meters.

Friday starts on the track with the 4x1,600-meter relay at 10:05 a.m. and field events will start at 11:00 a.m. with Mia Fowler in pole vault. On Saturday, Grace Proudfoot will kick off the final day with high jump at 9:00 a.m. On the track, the distance medley relay team will start at 10:37 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Oregon State closed out the Oregon Team Meet with a strong showing of personal bests and top-ten finishes. Ainsley Herron opened Saturday with a PR of 4:19.11 in the 1,500 meters for seventh. Jillian Brown led the Beavs in the 800 meters with a 2:07.69 for seventh, and Maya Baechler ran a personal best 2:08.92 for ninth.

On the field, Katie Gelston placed fourth in the discus, Delaney Bahn was fifth in the long jump, and Dede Norman finished 11th. Norman also cleared 1.70m in the high jump for fourth, while Grace Proudfoot took eighth.
Friday's action was highlighted by Isabelle Esler breaking her own school record in the javelin with a 53.35m throw. Sara Sanders moved to No. 6 all-time at OSU with a 49.07m mark for third, while Maryann Ackerman placed fifth.
Mia Fowler cleared 3.88m in the pole vault to take seventh and move to fourth all-time, and Proudfoot won the high jump at 1.70m. Gelston also secured third in the discus.
On the track, eight Beavs set personal bests in the 1,500 meters, led by Sydney Partyka (4:26.33) and Delaney Griffin (4:27.57). Ruby Lorenz ran a personal-best 59.40 to place second in the 400, and Jada Hurley (24.62) and Riley Patera (24.92 PB) impressed in the 200 meters.
