Beavers Back in Corvallis to Host OSU High Performance Meet

CORVALLIS, Ore. – For the first time this season, the Beavs are back in Corvallis to host the Oregon State High Performance Meet. The competition will take place at the Whyte Track and Field Center on Friday and Saturday.

Markayla Billings will kick off the weekend for Oregon State, competing in hammer throw at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Sprints will start with Megan Hatcher, who will compete in the 400-meter hurdles at 2:30. OSU will join the distance carnival at 5:25 p.m., racing in the 1,500 meters.

The competition will continue on Saturday for the squad, starting with javelin at 11:00 a.m. The 4x100m relay team will start the day on the track at 2:00 p.m. At 1:10 p.m., Oregon State will open the track by recognizing former Oregon State Track and Field head coach Frank Morris, who passed away last month. Following this, the Beavers will recognize the seniors on the team at 1:30 p.m.

The Beavers team made OSU history at the Drake Relays with a thrilling win in the 4x1600-meter relay, marking the program's first-ever title at the prestigious meet. The team of Abigail Pradere, Maya Baechler, Ruby Broadbent, and Ainsley Herron edged out Notre Dame by just 0.05 seconds, clocking in at 19:04.83.

Jillian Brown led a deep OSU effort in the 1,500 meters, finishing third, while Katie Kopec and Sage Brooks posted top-15 finishes in the 5,000. Field events saw Delaney Bahn place fourth in the long jump and Katie Gelston take fifth in the discus.
