Oregon State Victorious in Six Races at Washington State
April 05, 2025 | Women's Rowing
COLTON, Wash. – Oregon State women's rowing was victorious in six of seven races on Saturday at a regatta hosted by Washington State, officially retaining the Team Points Cup and Varsity Eight trophy.
The competition got off to a slow start after wind delayed the action by nearly three hours, but it didn't affect the Beavs, who started things off with an 11 second victory in the 3V8+/4V8+ race. After a close win in the second four, the second varsity eight earned its third-consecutive win, besting the Cougs with a 6:28.79.
Washington State responded in the varsity four, taking the race with a four second margin, but the Oregon State varsity eight quickly showed why the program was ranked No. 18 in the latest Pocock CRCA poll, finishing the course in 6:14.44 to win its second race in as many weeks.
Saturday's regatta ended with the 3V4+ and 4v4+ both winning their matchups.
With the victories, OSU has now had at least one boat win its respective race in each of the team's four regattas this spring season.
Oregon State returns to action in two weeks, traveling to Sarasota, Fla., to compete in the Big Ten Invite.
