OSU Women’s Rowing Readies for Conference Championship
May 15, 2025 | Women's Rowing
GOLD RIVER, Calif. – Oregon State women's rowing will compete for its first West Coast Conference championship this weekend, traveling to Gold River, Calif., for a two-day regatta that concludes with the Grand Final on Saturday.
Four boats will be competing in this year's championship, beginning with two heats of the 2V4+ at 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. on Friday, which are followed by the 1V4+ (9:00 / 9:15 a.m.), 2V8+ (9:30 / 9:45) and conclude with the varsity eight (10:00 / 10:15 a.m.). On Saturday, racing begins at 8:00 a.m. with the 2V4+ Petite Final and concludes with a 9:45 a.m. Grand Final for the varsity eight; racing on day two will be streamed on ESPN+.
Oregon State was last in action at its home course on May 3, hosting Southern California, San Diego and Sacramento State at Dexter Reservoir. During that regatta, both the first and second varsity eight won their races, while the first and second four and third eight finished in second place.
In defeating then-ranked No. 23 Southern California with a 10 second margin of victory, OSU's varsity eight has now won against a ranked opponent in four-consecutive regattas, and the performance also earned the boat its fourth Crew of the Week award from the conference, more than any other crew in the WCC.
When the updated rankings were released on Tuesday, the Beavers were sitting at No. 20 meaning the team has sat in the top 20 during every single week of the spring season.
The NCAA Division I Women's Rowing Selection Show will air Tuesday, May 20 at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET on NCAA.com. The 2025 NCAA DI Rowing Championship will be held May 30-June 1, 2025, on Lake Mercer in West Windsor, N.J., also streamed live on NCAA.com.
