Opening the WCC Slate

CORVALLIS, Ore. – West Coast Conference play opens up for Oregon State this week as the Beavers will welcome Saint Mary's (Calif.) and Pacific to Gill Coliseum.
.389 – Hitting .389 in the do-or-die fifth, The Beavs used two 3-0 runs in the fifth on the way to securing a win over PSU.
2 – Oregon State will open its second and final season as a member of the West Coast Conference.
1 – Rumel was the only WCC student-athlete named to the gold medal-winning Team USA at the U23 NORCECA Pan American Games earlier in August.
3 – The Beavers are one of three WCC schools to have three student-athletes from Hawai'i.
6 – Oregon State will close a stretch of six-of-seven from the comfort of Gill Coliseum.
15 – Nathalie Scholz ranks 15th in Division I in blocks per set.
20 – Against Portland State, Emma Lilo (30) and Jackie Matias (22) – kept the offense going with 20-plus assists.
THE WEEK'S OPPOSITION
• Oregon State opens conference play this week.
• The week features two home match ups against Saint Mary's and Pacific.

• 32nd in team kills/set (13.91) and 32nd in team assists/set (12.89)
• Lauren Rumel: 61st in kills/set (4), 78th in attacks/set (10.37)
ALANA AGAIN!
• Alana Marrs was once again named the WCC's Freshman of the Week, becoming the second in the league to get the mark in just four chances.
VOLLEYBALL IN THE VALLEY
• Prior to their win over PSU, the Beavs were on a four game winning streak in the Willamette Valley
• A trip to Portland broke a four-match homestand before the Beavs returned for the conference opener.
THE MATCHUPS
• Oregon State will face Saint Mary's for the eighth time in history and Pacific for the 14th time.
• Due to scheduling last year, OSU faced each once - beating the Gaels in four but falling to the Tigers in five.
LAST TIME OUT
•The Beavers hosted Oregon and traveled to Portland to face PSU.
• Oregon State started the weekend hot, winning the first set against Oregon but fell in four.
• Needing all five sets for the first time all season, the Oregon State volleyball team put away Portland State in the nonconference finale on the road, winning the final set 15-9.
Looking Ahead
• Oregon State will travel south to California to face Santa Clara and San Francisco.
HEADING BACK TO THE PAC
• Oregon State closes its two-year stint as an affiliate member of the WCC in 2025.
• Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, San Diego State, Texas State and Utah State will join OSU and Washington State in a rebuilt Pac-12 on July 1, 2026.
SHE'S MS. AMERICA
• Before the season started, Rumel was named to the United States' U23 roster for the NORCECA Pan-American Championships and helped lead the team to a gold medal-winning finish.
• She was the only selection on the team from a WCC school.
ISLAND CONNECTION
• Only three WCC programs can claim a league-high three student-athletes from Hawai'i—and Oregon State is one of them. The Beavers' trio highlights the program's ties to talent across the Pacific.
WORLDWIDE BEAVS
• Oregon State has four international student-athletes, which is among the most in the league.
• In the previous two years in the Behonick era, the Beavs had three each.
