
Beavers Advance to WCC Semis

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Oregon State men's basketball moved on to the semifinal round of the WCC Tournament with a 78-77 win over San Francisco Sunday evening in Las Vegas, Nev. The Beavers trailed 11-0 to start the game, before battling back to claim the victory.
The Beavers will advance to take on Gonzaga in the semi-finals of the 2026 Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Basketball Championship on Monday.
Dez White finished with 18 points in his return from injury, knocking down six of his eight 3-point attempts. Josiah Lake II also finished with 18 points, and added seven assists and four rebounds.
Isaiah Sy tallied 12 points, while Noah Amenhauser came up with a big five points and four rebounds off the bench. As a team, the Beavers shot 47.3 percent from the floor and 45.8 percent from 3-point range. Oregon State out-scored the Dons 37-2 in bench points.
San Francisco got off to a strong start, scoring the first 11 points of the game. Oregon State battled back to bring the score to 15-11, but the Dons answered with seven-straight points to go in front by 11. Again the Beavers answered, sitting within two with 3:23 to go in the opening half.
Oregon State would cut the lead to a point, before heading to the intermission trailing 32-30. White led the Beavers with 12 points, knocking won all four of his 3-point attempts.
The Beavers took the lead less than a minute into the second half on a White 3-pointer. The teams traded punches from there, until an 11-0 Beaver run put Oregon State in front by eight. The Dons responded by cutting the lead to one with 6:44 to play.
The teams traded blows with the Beaver going up by seven with just over a minute to play, and holding on from there to claim the win.
Oregon State will face Gonzaga Monday at 6 p.m.
