2010: Competed once in the 4,500 meters at the John Frank Memorial and finished 18th with a time of 16:45.70 ... Competed twice in the 6,000 meters with best time and finish coming in a 27th finish at the Bill Dellinger Invitational with a time of 21:24.42.
2009: Competed in four meets during the cross country season ... Best finish was 17th place at Pre's Trail (9/4)
2008: Redshirted the cross country season.
OREGON STATE OUTDOOR TRACK:
2011: Competed in the 1,500 meters four times ... Best finish in the 1,500 meters was first at the Oregon Preview (3/19) with a time of 4:39.56 ... Best time in the 1,500 meters was 4:37.37 at the Stanford Invitational (3/25) ... Earned Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention.
2010: Redshirted the track season.
RIDGEFIELD HIGH SCHOOL: Competed in cross country for three years earning three letters under coaches Jim Reed and Sara Mills... competed in track all four years earning four letters under coach Mills and Greg Ford... was track team captain for two years, most-improved one year and most inspirational for two years...earned track All-Region honors was a state qualifier three years... placed at state in track two years in the 800-meters and 1,600-meters... was MVP three years... was cross country team captain two years, MVP for three years and most inspirational for two years... qualified for state competition in cross country three years and was All-League three years... was in leadership class and running start... also participated in in basketball for two years earning two letters and soccer for one earning a letter.
PERSONAL: Majoring in dietetics... contemplating a career as a dietitian... parents are father Shell and mother Terri Buruse... father is a civil engineer and mother is a sixth grade teacher... has one brother, Cole (14)... hobbies include going to the beach, water sports, camping, shopping, hanging with family and friends and reading... favorite athlete is Steve Prefontaine... biggest athletic thrill was "signing my letter of intent for OSU"... chose OSU for "the team, the awesome coaching staff and for my major."
