Eric Pohl enters his eighth season as an assistant coach with the Oregon State women's soccer program in 2016. Pohl works primarily with the field players.
Pohl was on the sidelines when the Beavers got out to their best start in program history, (9-1-0) after the team's first ten matches of the 2012 season. That stretch included a historic road win at the University of Portland (the first in program history) and only the second win over the Pilots.
The Corvallis, Ore., native was part of the coaching staff that helped lead the Beavers to a 13-5-3 record in 2011, finishing in third place in the Pac-12 and earning their third consecutive NCAA tournament berth.
Pohl helped lead the Beavers to their most wins in school history in 2010 with a final 16-4-1 record, a trip to the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship and a second-place finish in the Pac-10 with a 7-2 record, both being school records.
He served as a volunteer assistant coach and team camp director at Oregon State from March 2009 to May 2010 and was hired full-time to his current position in June 2010. He is also the Director of Coaching for the Corvallis Soccer Club.
Pohl attended the University of San Diego where he helped the team to the NCAA Tournament in 2003. He graduated from San Diego in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He also holds a USSF National "B" Coaching License.
The graduate of Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis, Pohl was inducted into the Raiders Hall of Fame after scoring 86 goals in four years. He also participated in the Olympic Development Program, where he was a four-year state team captain, four-year regional team forward and a one-year national team forward.
Eric was born and raised in Corvallis and currently lives in his hometown with his wife (Justyna) and daughter (Ella).
