
Beavers Suffer Setback in Game Two

BERKELEY, Calif. – The Oregon State softball team suffered a 5-1 setback in game two of the regular season series finale at California on Saturday afternoon.
The Bears loaded the bases in the second inning before a scoring a run on a fielding error to take an early lead.
The Beavers responded in the following inning after Jessica Garcia led the inning off with a single and moved into scoring position on a wild pitch. Oregon State kept the inning alive and tied the game up, 1-1 after a Bear error.
California retook the lead in the bottom of the fourth on an illegal pitch and added to its lead in the sixth with three runs.
Jessica Garcia led the squad with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate. Nerissa Eason was tagged with the loss after pitching 5 2/3 innings allowing three earned runs. Meehra Nelson came into the game with two outs in the sixth and forced the final out.
Oregon State (27-25, 8-15 Pac-12) will close the series tomorrow starting at 2 p.m., on the Pac-12 Networks.
