Beavers in the ProsÂ
- Oregon State will make its first road trip of the season to Spokane, Wash., to compete in the Gonzaga Tournament
- OSU will face American University on Friday, Sept. 1, at 4 p.m. PT, before taking on UC Riverside on Sunday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. PT
- This will be the Beavers' first meeting against the Eagles and third meeting against the Highlanders

- Oregon State is 2-0-0 against UC Riverside all-time, with both contests coming at home
- The Beavers last squared off with the Highlanders on Aug. 25, 2006, with OSU taking a 2-1 win at Lorenz Field
- The first meeting between the teams came on Sept. 13, 2002, with Oregon State taking a 2-0 decision
Scouting Report
- American University is currently 0-2-0 with losses to Georgetown and George Mason
- The Eagles fell to the Hoyas at 2-0 before dropping a 3-0 decision to the Patriots
- Freshman Jerry Zouantcha has taken the most shots for American, firing off five with two coming on goal
- Sophomore John Mino was given the loss against George Mason after playing the full 90 minutes, while senior Shuan Quinn took the loss to Georgetown
- The Eagles finished 2016 on top of the Patriot League standings at 11-5-5 but lost their top three point scorers over the offseason
- UC Riverside's lone loss came to CSU Bakersfield at 2-0
- The Highlanders fired off 11 shots in the contest, with junior Eduardo Sanchez, sophomore Anthony Lopez and freshman Roberto Garcia-Vargas each taking three with one on goal
- Redshirt-senior Vincent Morales took the loss with two saves in the game
- In 2016, the Highlanders went 9-10-1 and lost their top scorer, Romario Lomeli, who was the lone member to record double-digit points with 21 behind six goals and nine assists
Last Time Out
- The Beavers ended the Hensor/Zaher Nike Classic with a 1-0 overtime win over [-/17] UNLV thanks to Jordan Jones' golden goal at 50 seconds into the first overtime period
- Timmy Mueller had the assist on the game winner as he sent the cross to the far pole for Jones to finish
- Jalen Markey, Timmy Muelle and Jordan Jones were all named to the Hensor/Zaher All-Tournament team for their performances
1-2 Punch
- The foward duo of Mueller and Jones have combined for  118 appearances on the pitch for OSU
- Mueller and Jones have buried 47 total goals as they own 23 and 24, respectively
- 16 game winners are attributed to the pair with 10 coming from Mueller and 6 coming from Jordan
- The combo have accolades aplenty with Jordan owning two Pac-12 Second Team appearances and one All-Far West Region Third Team and Mueller laying claim to two All-Far West Region teams, two All-Pac-12 teams and a College Soccer News Freshman All-American
Finding a Balance
- 29 members will fill the roster for the 2017, with 13 upperclassman and 16 underclassman looking to leave an impact
- Five seniors grace the roster, all with extensive playing time: Mueller, Jones, Markey, Tweeton and Miralles
- Eight juniors will add to the depth: Brill, Braaten, Dotson, Vincent, Sungvornrajasabh, Tchilao, Matthias Binder and Davis Chimento
- Six sophomores will get an opportunity to shine as well: Diaz, Strenov, Caleb Michael, Brady Graff, Rodrigo Sarmiento and Michael Swift
- 10 freshmen will grace the roster for the season: Gage Rogers, Pablo Gatinois, Kolade Salaudeen, Joel Walker, Keegan Ness, Mitch Hammer, Andre Earthy-Find, Sean Cooper, Caleb Etter and Joe Hafferty
Transfer Market
- Oregon State has had success with transfers over the last few seasons
- Jaime Miralles played a big role for the Beavers in 2016 as he tallied one goal and four helpers.
- Matthias Binder is a fresh transfer for 2017 as he made 35 appearances for UW-Milwaukee in two years and posted two goals and four assists in over 2,600 minutes
- Michael Swift is another new transfer, coming from Clemson where he made 17 appearances as a freshman for the Tigers

- Danny Mwanga was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 MLS Draft, before Khiry Shelton was selected second overall in 2016
