Oregon State Returns Home for Two Games

Beavers Host Gonzaga on Friday at 8 p.m.
The Games: Oregon State returns to Corvallis this week to begin a two-game home stand. The Beavers will kick things off by taking on Gonzaga Friday evening at 8 p.m., and will follow that up by facing Dartmouth Sunday at 1 p.m.

What's Coming Up: Oregon State will head to Lubbock, Texas to take on Texas Tech on Sept. 16.

Tickets: Oregon State is selling tickets for men's and women's soccer this season. Season tickets are available for $50 for adults and $30 for youth/seniors. Single game tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children/seniors. As a ticketed event, Oregon State soccer is now subject to the athletic department's Clear Bag Policy.

Campers Weekend: All Women's Soccer campers who wear their Oregon State Women's Soccer Camp T-Shirt receive free admission to both Friday and Sunday's game.

National College Colors Day: The first 100 fans to Friday's game will receive a free orange soccer t-shirt.

History with the Bulldogs: Oregon State holds a 12-4 series lead over Gonzaga. Gonzaga took the last meeting in 2013, 1-0.

- The Beavers have had seven athletes start every game this season (Brown, Fonsen, Malone, Pantuso, Skiba, Studer and Wallerich).
- Three of these starters are freshmen (Brown, Skiba and Studer).
Quick Hitters:
- Oregon State ended the 2018 season with back-to-back wins over Utah and Oregon.
- OSU scored 10 goals last season, the fewest total since 2014.
- The Beavers committed the fewest amount of fouls during the 2017 season that they have committed in the last decade.
- Oregon State made the least shot attempts in the Pac-12 last season, with an average of 10.37 per match. Currently averaging 13.5 per match this season.
- OSU placed 14 players on the Pac-12 All-Academic team last season, including seven players that will return to the squad this season (Fonsen, Lemmond, Nickerson, Pantuso, Santiago, Wallerich and Witherington).
The Newcomers:
- The team welcomes 11 newcomers to the roster for the 2018 season.
- These 11 span from two countries (United States and Jamaica) and four different states (Oregon, California, Hawaii and Washington).
- Erica MacDonald transferred to Oregon State as a junior from Diablo     Valley Junior College.
- Six newcomers have seen time in the first four matches of the season (Brown, Liddell, Hackbarth, Keawekane, Skiba and Studer).
- Freshman goalkeeper Bridgette Skiba leads the Pac-12 with 16 saves on the season as of Aug. 27.
The Returners
- Allison Pantuso returns for her senior year after leading the 2017 team in the minutes' category with 1723.
- The Beavers return four athletes who scored a goal last season (Leblic, Lemmond, O'Connor and Santiago).
- Diana Santiago is the only returner who recorded a goal and an assist last season.
- Senior Kate Evans recorded the first goal for the Beavers in the 2018 season off a free kick against Stony Brook.
The Staff:
- Head Coach Linus Rhode is entering his 11th season at the helm of the Oregon State women's soccer team, and is looking to lead the Beavers to their fourth NCAA tournament appearances under his watch.
- Rhode has 86 career wins at Oregon State, which ranks first for the most wins in Oregon State history.
- Prior to becoming a head coach, Rhode was an assistant and associate coach for the Beavers for eight seasons.
- The Beavers enter their second season with Michelle Voiland as the associate head coach after being a longtime assistant with the program.
- Vanessa Valentine returns for her second season as assistant coach.
The Schedule:
- Ten of Oregon State's 19 matches will be home games, including five of its eight nonconference contests.
- The Beavers will face four preseason ranked opponents this season, as well as four other teams that received votes from the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll.
- Four of Oregon State's nonconference opponents come from power conferences.
- The Beavers will take on foes from six different conferences in non-league play. OSU will face two teams from the Big 12, two from the West Coast, and one each from the ACC, Big 10, American East and Ivy League.
- The Beavers will be on TV eight times this year, with their Pac-12 Network debut on Aug. 17.

- Jodie Taylor currently plays for Seattle Reign FC.
- Taylor recently helped Melbourne City FC win the 2017/18 Westfield W-League Championships.
- Was a member of England's Euro 2017 squad, scoring the winning goal to send the Lionesses to the semi-finals.
- Recently nominated for the Best International Women's Soccer Player at the 2018 ESPYs.
- Rachel Axon currently plays for Kolbotn Fotball in the Norwegian league.
- Greta Espinoza plays for the Spanish club Levante.
- Espinoza was a member of the Mexico National Team who recently won a gold medal at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Columbia.
- Bella Geist was picked in the third round (29th overall) by the Portland Thorns in the 2018 draft.
- Emma Jones recently signed a contract to play for the Linkopings FC in Sweden.
Last Week: Oregon State vs. No. 18 Kansas:
- Freshman goalkeeper Bridgette Skiba recorded three saves.
- Emery Wallerich recorded a shot in the 46th minute that went high.
- Toni Malone took a shot in the 59th minute that went just over the top of the goal.
- The Beaver defense held Kansas scoreless in the second half.
Last Week: Oregon State vs. Nebraska:
- The Beavers and the Cornhuskers sat through a 57-minute lightning delay.
- Freshman Sydney Studer recorded two shots, one in each half.
- Redshirt-Sophomore McKenzie Weinert recorded one shot in the first half that went wide and another in the second that deflected off the post.
- The Beaver defense held Nebraska scoreless in the second half.
