CORVALLIS, Ore. – Pinch hitting in the fifth inning, Tiara Westbrook blasted a first pitch to left-center for her first career home run – and hit – to lead Oregon State on Saturday afternoon.

Despite the Westbrook longball, 12^th-ranked UCLA took the game by a 5-2 score over the Beavers (15-21, 3-8 Pac-12) at Kelly Field.

When facing the deficit in the fifth with two out, pinch hitters responded with consecutive hits. Kaiea Higa roped a single to center field before Westbrook's no-doubt homer brought her home for the first runs for the Beavs.

The visiting Bruins piled up their five runs in the game's first five frames before the Beavers could answer with Westbrook's hit. By the time OSU recorded their first six outs, UCLA piled on three with a pair of homers and a RBI double.

Paige Doerr paced the OSU offense with a pair of hits on the day while Higa, Grace Messmer and Westbrook each tallied one apiece.

Ellie Garcia (5-6) was charged with the loss after giving up all five of UCLA's runs – four earned - in all seven frames. The junior from Chino, Calif., yielded seven hits and four walks but struck out a pair.

Oregon State and UCLA will wrap up the series with a 1 p.m. game tomorrow from Kelly Field. The finale will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks Oregon.
