CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State volleyball fell in straight sets Saturday afternoon to the Colorado State Rams.

AC Froehlich led the attack with 15 kills, adding nine digs, while Taylor Treahy totaled eight kills, seven digs and a block. Taray Tela (.375) and Alana Marrs (.333) both hit north of .300 on their way to seven and five kills, respectively, while Cheyenne Green had four kills and two blocks.

Jackie Matias recorded her seventh double-double of the season thanks to 35 assists and 14 digs, while Isabel Bertelsen led the Beaver defense with 15 digs, also contributing four assists.

The first rally of the match lasted 45 seconds and set the stage for an exciting first frame of action. Though the visitors built out an early four-point lead at 13-9, Oregon State responded in a big way, trading points before rattling off four unanswered to claim the lead at 17-16 on a Cheyenne Green kill.

Four consecutive Ram points ensued, but yet another run put the Beavers ahead late in the set at 23-22; Colorado State scored four of the next five points to win, 26-24.

After the Rams built out a 21-13 lead in the second, Oregon State went on a furious comeback, recording three separate 3-0 runs that elicited two CSU timeouts and brought the score within a point at 24-23, but it was too little too late as Colorado State won the second, 25-23.

Set three saw the match level at eight apiece on a Froehlich kill to cap off a 4-0 run, with both teams then trading points until the midpoint of the set when the Rams scored four unanswered to make it 20-15. A late run by the Beavers resulted in two more CSU timeouts and a deficit of just three points at 22-19, but the Rams responded and won the set 25-21 to win in three.

With the result, OSU moves to 12-9 this season and 7-3 in Pac-12 play with just six contests remaining. On the road for the next four, Beaver volleyball returns home for its final two regular season home matches against San Diego State (Nov. 17, 6 p.m.) and Boise State (Nov. 19, 6 p.m.).
