Beavers Drop Overtime Battle with Lions

CORVALLIS, Ore. – LMU's Andjela Matic made a three-pointer with two seconds left to knock off Oregon State in overtime 71-69 on Saturday afternoon.
The loss means Oregon State will be the no. 4 seed in the West Coast Conference tournament when the bracket is unveiled on Sunday morning. Matchups are TBD as other league games finish up on Saturday.
Kennedie Shuler made clutch shot after clutch shot to send the game to overtime, finishing with 15 points. Down 62-58 junior point guard got two layups to go to even the game at 62. Her heave at the buzzer was on line, but bounced off the backboard and out.
Jenna Villa and Tiara Bolden joined Shuler with 15 points apiece and both guards grabbed seven rebounds as OSU won the glass 39-36. Bolden also grabbed three steals while Villa made what was the go-ahead basket before Matic's winner.
Lizzy Williamson scored 10 points for the third straight game while grabbing eight rebounds. The senior also blocked a shot and grabbed a steal. Williamson was key to OSU winning points in the paint 40-26.
The Beavs held LMU to 41 percent shooting from the floor and 27 percent from three, but the Lions were able to take 17 extra shots due to 22 turnovers and 12 offensive rebounds.
OSU will open the WCC Tournament on Sunday, March 8 at a time TBD on ESPN+. Tip time will be announced when the league releases the bracket on Sunday, March 1.
