Beavers Drop Series Finale at Saint Mary’s

MORAGA, Calif. – Oregon State softball fell to the Saint Mary's Gaels on Sunday, dropping the series finale, 8-4, at Cottrell Field.
The Gaels scored runs in the first, second and third innings to take a 5-0 lead, but OSU's bats once again came alive in the fifth. Mya Harrison, Camrynn Gordon and Jada Lewis hit three-consecutive singles to load the bases for Alliyah Rodriguez, who was hit by an 0-2 pitch to score a run. Making her 16th appearance, Rodriguez is now up to three RBI on the season and was twice hit by a pitch in Sunday's contest.
Lici Campbell then came mere feet away from hitting a grand slam that would have tied the game, but the was caught on the warning track allowing Gordon to score from third on a sacrifice fly. Campbell plated another run on a fielder's choice in the seventh inning to finish with two RBI.
Tristian Thompson was 2-4 with a seventh inning RBI single and Lewis finished 2-4 with a run scored. Kaylie Stauffer celebrated her birthday with a pinch single to lead off the seventh inning as she finished her eighth appearance of the season 1-1.
Harrison scored twice in the matchup to finish 1-2 while Gordon was 1-2 with one run scored and Morgan Howey hit a second inning double as she was 1-4 in the game. In total, Oregon State finished with four runs on eight hits.
Bailey Murray was in the circle to start, striking out three across 4.1 innings pitched while allowing 10 hits and seven runs. Haydn Milley came on in relief, pitching the game's final 2.1 innings, finishing with a line of one run on two hits across 24 total pitches.
