Weeks Sets Stolen Base Record as Beavs Fall to No. 2 UCLA

Corvallis, Ore. – Shelby Weeks set a new school record for most career stolen bases as the Beavers fell to the No. 2 Bruins, 10-2 and 7-0.
Over the course of the two games, Jessica Garcia led the team going 3-for-6 while Weeks, Camryn Ybarra and Frankie Hammoude each had two hits each.
Game One:
Action started on Friday night with UCLA jumping out to an early lead in the top of the first inning, 7-0.
Oregon State struck back in the bottom of the inning when Weeks led-off with a walk. Weeks stole second for her 14th season base while clinching the OSU program record for career stolen bases with 58. Ybarra hit a stand-up double to right-center field that scored Weeks. Hammoude also singled and advanced to second on a bad throw by UCLA while Ybarra advanced to third. Karla Calderon pinch ran for Hammoude, but both Ybarra and Calderon were stranded to end the inning.
UCLA scored one run in the second and two in the top of the third before the game was called on Friday night due to rain.
Action continued on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. beginning with Weeks, Garcia and Ybarra all batting in the bottom of the third.
In the fifth, Weeks singled to UCLA's shortstop. Garcia followed that with her 10th career triple that was hit into right-center field, scoring Weeks.
The Beavers held UCLA scoreless for the fourth and fifth innings, but ultimately fell to the Bruins, 10-2.
Meehra Nelson started in the circle for the Beavers and falls to 6-5 on the season. Junior Nerissa Eason also pitched for the Beavers striking out five batters.
Game Two:
Weeks started the second game off with a single to the shortstop. Weeks advanced to second as Garcia was out at first base. Hammoude joined Weeks on base with a walk, but both were stranded to end the first.
UCLA put two runs on the board in the second inning and one in the third to take a 3-0 lead.
Garcia singled in the third and Hammoude singled in the fourth, but neither made it around to score.
The Bruins added four more runs between the fifth and sixth innings to extend their lead, 7-0.
In the sixth, Izzy Owen made a diving catch in right field and made a quick throw over to Hammoude at first to get two outs and the Beavers out of the inning.
Sophomore Mariah Mazon started in the circle for the Beavers and recorded six strike outs in 7.0 innings while dropping to 12-12 on the season.

Oregon State will take on Oregon next week in a three-game series beginning on Friday, April 26 at 2:30 p.m. in Eugene.
