Beavers Travel to Indiana for Hoosier Invite

OSU Seeks to Improve on 2-0 Start
• Oregon State takes its 2-0 record back on the road this week to the Hoosier Invite. The Beavers will be seeking to remain unbeaten through two weeks, similar to what they accomplished in 2017 when they opened with a 6-0 record.
• The Beavers face Oklahoma to open the tourney Thursday at 2 p.m. PT.
• OSU returns to the court Friday morning for to take on the host Hoosiers at 7 a.m. PT.
• Oregon State will bounce back in the afternoon to take on Yale at 2 p.m. PT.
• For the second year in a row, Oregon State will be on the road for the first four weekends to begin the season (11 matches).

Against the Field
• Oregon State has an overall 2-2 all-time record against Oklahoma and fell in the lone previous matchup against Indiana. It will be the first meeting between OSU and Yale.
Last Week
• The Beavers opened the 2019 season with a pair of three game sweeps at the Oregon Classic last week. It marks the second time during the Mark Barnard era that OSU has been 2-0 to start the season.
• Two newcomers earned their first OSU starts in the season-opener against UC Irvine Friday morning. Sophomore transfer OH Chloe Brown produced her first double-double for the Beavers with a team-leading 12 kills and 14 digs, while freshman OH Cecilee Max-Brown added 10 kills.
• Brown posted a match-high 13 kills for the second time, while senior MB Kory Cheshire returned to the lineup on Friday tallying 10 kills against Boston College.
• Both Brown and Max-Brown were named to the Oregon Classic All-Tournament Team.
Aces
• Junior libero Grace Massey became the 16th OSU player in history to reach the 1,000 career digs mark Friday morning.
• Sophomore setter Maddie Sheehan became the 13th player in school history to register 1,000 career assists.
• Oregon State hit for a .402 attack percentage (46 kills, 9 errors, 99 attacks) against UCI, the first time the Beavers have hit over .400 since a match at California in 2017.
Yale Connection
• Yale freshman Maile Somera is the daughter of former Oregon State volleyball coaches Nancy and Ben Somera (1999-2004).
