Oregon State to Compete in 2024 Head of the Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – Beaver Women's Rowing is set to open the 2024-2025 season this Saturday in Spokane, Wash. The Beavs will face off against hosts Gonzaga and other rivals at Head of the Spokane regatta.
The Beavs were last in action on May 19, placing fourth at the 2024 Pac-12 Championships. A combined 10 members of the first and second varsity eights are back along with four from the first varsity four.
In the offseason, Junior Giulia Clerici was one of two Beavers to compete internationally, earning a silver medal with Team Italy at the 2024 World Rowing Championships; freshman Linda Weitmann placed sixth with Team Austria.
Weitmann is one of nine new Beavers, a class which features freshmen Kiana Bakhshaee (Tehran, Iran), Sophia Capouleas (Melbourne, Australia), Taylor Jones (Princeton, N.J.), Roisin Kruse (Eugene, Ore.), Katie Myers (Redwood City, Calif.), Mattie Rowlands (Ventura, Calif.), Alex Stone (Melbourne, Australia) and graduate student Corinna Sahu, who joins the program from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Oregon State women's rowing will return to action next Saturday, competing at Head of the American (Gold River, Calif.).
