EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon State softball team dropped the opener of the Jane Sanders Classic to eighth-ranked Florida State, 8-0, on Friday afternoon.
Ella Dardis, Lici Campbell and Jaeya Butler registered hits for the Oregon State (9-11) offense on the day. Both Dardis and Butler tallied doubles.
Logan Hulon (3-8) went the full 5.0 innings, where she gave up all eight Seminole runs on 11 hits and four walks. She recorded three strikeouts but walked four.
Florida State used four runs in the second inning to put the game out of reach as they stretched their early lead to 5-0. Across the third and fourth, the Seminoles plated their final runs to solidify the final margin.
Oregon State will continue play at the Jane Sanders Classic tomorrow with a doubleheader, first a rematch with eighth-ranked Florida State before resuming the Rivalry Series with no. 12 Oregon. Games are slated for 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. with both available to stream on B1G+.
