Softball Falls to No. 8 UCLA

FULLERTON, Calif. – Oregon State softball fell 13-3 to the eighth-ranked UCLA Bruins on Sunday in the team's final day of play at the Judi Garman Classic.
Jada Lewis finished 1-1 with a walk and an RBI double, cutting into the Bruin lead with her hit in the third inning to score Camrynn Gordon from second. Lewis, a junior, is now hitting .327 on the season with two doubles, six RBI and a team-leading eight stolen bases, while Gordon tallied one hit, one walk and two runs scored.
Jaeya Butler added to her team-leading RBI total with a fifth inning double to right, hitting 1-3 in the game, while Mya Harrison was 1-2 with a base on balls. Tristian Thompson also got on the board with another RBI, scoring one on a ground ball in the infield to make it 20 RBI this season.
Four Oregon State student-athletes pitched against No. 8 UCLA, started by Amelia Streuber who allowed four hits, two earned runs and struck out one. Kynlee Griffith struck out one in 1.2 innings of her own before Kimberlee Aleman and Bailey Murray combined to pitch the game's final 1.2 innings of play; Murray, the reigning WCC Pitcher of the Week, struck out two Bruin batters.
