Softball Splits with Idaho State
March 19, 2026 | Softball
POCATELLO, Idaho – Oregon State softball split its Friday doubleheader with Idaho State, winning, 9-4, in game one before falling, 9-1, in game two. With the split day, OSU moves to 12-21 on the season with one more matchup against the Bengals Saturday.
Game one: Oregon State 9, Idaho State 4
Exceptional hitting played a pivotal role in the Beavers' series-opening victory with nine hits in total and six walks. Tristian Thompson's power led the way, as the team's starting first baseman hit 2-4 with a home run and five RBI, while Lici Campbell's strong run at the plate continued with a perfect line that finished 3-3 with a double and base on balls.
Morgan Howey was 2-3 with a home run and pair of RBI, striking back-to-back with Thompson in a four-run third inning. For Thompson, the home run was her ninth of the season while Howey made it five on the year with a ball that was hit over the wall in left.
Jaeya Butler ignited another four-run inning in the fourth with a two RBI double as she finished 2-4 with two doubles and two runs scored. Thompson had an RBI single that plated two and Howey hit a sacrifice fly to make it 9-2 at the time; ISU scored a pair of runs in each of the second and sixth innings.
Rylei Trujillo scored two runs, getting on base three times all on walks, while Kimberlee Aleman threw a complete game, allowing seven hits and striking out three of the 28 batters she faced across seven innings pitched.
Game two: Idaho State 9, Oregon State 1 (final/6)
Mya Harrison hit her first career home run in the fifth, turning on an 0-1 pitch and launching it over the wall in center field, but Idaho State countered the Beavers' game one victory with a win of their own in game two, scoring runs in the first, third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
Harrison, who entered the contest with a .359 average, finished 1-2, and Kaylie Stauffer led off the third inning with a single up the middle to finish 1-2. Rylei Trujillo also got on base with yet another walk.
Haydn Milley had a strong showing in the circle, not allowing a hit and striking out two across three innings of relief work, entering for Amelia Streuber who started the game; Bailey Murray also pitched in game two, striking out one across two innings thrown.
With just one game tomorrow to round out the three-game series, Oregon State returns home next weekend to open West Coast Conference action, hosting San Diego.
