Howey’s Late Home Run Seals Beaver Victory

The Beaver offense exploded early in this one, scoring five runs in the first inning. A pair of RBI doubles by Howey and Madison Weir plated a combined four runs, while Mya Harrison grounded out to short to score Lici Campbell from third.
Howey was 2-4 with that home run and double across her 35th appearance of the year, driving in four runs and increasing her season totals to six homers and 21 RBI, both of which are personal bests for a single season.
Weir was 1-3 with a pair of RBI and Harrison 1-4, adding a stolen base.
Though the Toreros scored one in the second, OSU's offensive output continued in the third as Camrynn Gordon and Jada Lewis hit back-to-back RBI singles to put the team up by six. Lewis was 2-4 with an RBI and stolen base and Gordon added a stolen base while hitting 1-3.
Lici Campbell was 1-2 with a pair of walks, getting on base to setup Howey's two run blast in the sixth inning, while Paige Bambarger was 1-1 and added a base on balls in the first inning before scoring on Weir's double.
Bailey Murray started her eighth game of the 2026 campaign, striking out five across 4.2 innings of work, setting the stage for Haydn Milley who was credited with a save after allowing two hits and one run in two innings pitched.
With the win, Oregon State improves its season record to 13-22 and 1-0 in West Coast Conference play with games against the Toreros slated for Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 12.
