Butler Makes History in Pair of Beaver Wins
April 10, 2026 | Softball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State softball took a pair of games over Pacific on Friday, moving to 5-3 in conference play with wins of 6-4 an 2-1 in a doubleheader at Kelly Field.
Game one: Oregon State 6, Pacific 4
Jaeya Butler set the program's single season home run record in style late in game one, surpassing Frankie Hammoude's record with a sixth inning grand slam to deep center field for her 18th on the season, putting the Beavs ahead 6-1. She finished the contest 2-3 with four RBI, one walk and a stolen base, her 18th multi-hit performance of the season.
Morgan Howey broke things open in the fourth inning, smashing a solo shot to left center to score the game's first run; the Arcadia, Calif., native was 1-4 in the matchup. Paige Bambarger was 1-1 with an RBI double to put the Beavers ahead in the sixth, adding a sacrifice bunt in the second and walking in the fourth.
Jada Lewis and Madison Weir were both 1-3 while Justice Flores entered as a pinch runner in the sixth and stole a base.
Bailey Murray started and threw 6.1 innings, allowing 11 hits and four earned runs while striking out five. Though Pacific rallied and had the game-tying run on base in the seventh, Haydn Milley posted her second save of the season, facing three batters to close the game down.
Game two: Oregon State 2, Pacific 1
After inclement weather sent game two into a two-hour weather delay just two batters in, OSU earned its second win of the day on the heels of another Butler home run and tremendous pitching in the circle.
Butler, who hit a third inning solo shot to extend her program record home run total to 19, was 2-3 in contest two and stole another base thanks to some head up baserunning in the first. Tristian Thompson doubled the Beaver lead with a solo shot of her own to leadoff the fourth, finishing 1-3.
Howey was 2-3 and Lewis added a stolen base to go with a 1-3 performance at the plate; Mya Harrison tallied her eighth stolen base of the season.
Kimberlee Aleman tossed a gem, going the distance with six hits and just one run allowed across seven innings and 113 total pitches. For the Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., native, Friday's performance was her second complete game of the season and first time going seven-plus since a March 19 win over Idaho State.
