Beavers Fall to Redhawks in Extras
April 24, 2026 | Softball
Lici Campbell tallied her second-consecutive multi-hit game and ninth overall, hitting an emphatic two-run home run in the first inning as she smashed a 1-1 pitch on to the batting cages in left. Campbell, who has played in all but one game this season, also hit a double down the left field line in the fourth inning, finishing Friday's game 2-3 with three RBI, two walks and two runs scored.
Morgan Howey was also 2-3 with three RBI, hitting a fifth inning solo shot and sixth inning two RBI double while adding a walk and one run scored. A senior from Arcadia, Calif., Friday's long ball puts her in double digits for the first time in her four-year career, as she's up to 10 home runs and 29 RBI while hitting .313 this season.
Paige Bambarger and Mya Harrison both tallied multi-hit games that included a triple, Bambarger's in the second and Harrison's in the fifth. Jaeya Butler was 2-5 with two runs scored and an RBI thanks to a game-tying double in the seventh while Camrynn Gordon hit 1-3 and scored twice.
In total, Oregon State's offense generated 10 runs on 13 hits, the third time this season that the Beavers have scored double-digit runs.
Bailey Murray pitched the first 4.2 innings, allowing seven hits and striking out four Redhawk batters while allowing four runs – one of which was earned. Amelia Streuber had one strikeout in one third inning while Haydn Milley allowed four hits before Kimberlee Aleman tallied a line of six hits, three runs (two earned) and one strikeout across the game's final 3.2 innings.
OSU got off to a hot start in this game, scoring three runs in the first two innings off Campbell's home run and an RBI single by Harrison. Seattle responded with a sacrifice fly but a Gordon sacrifice bunt and ensuing Seattle errors scored Bambarger from second; Harrison later scored on a Jada Lewis sacrifice fly before Campbell's double.
Though the Beavers were leading 6-1 after four innings, Seattle plated three in the fifth and five in the sixth, capitalizing on defensive mistakes by the Beavers. After SU took a one run lead in the top of the seventh, Butler's double tied It, but Seattle scored in the ninth inning off a single to center to take the win.
