April 26, 2026 | Softball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Tristian Thompson hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning of Sunday's game against Seattle U, helping propel Oregon State softball to an 8-6 senior day victory at Kelly Field.
Thompson's 12th home run of the season came at a pivotal moment for the Beavs, who were trailing by one with two outs and runners at the corners. On the season, the Waco, Texas, native is now up to 12 home runs and 38 RBI, both of which are single season career highs and rank among the WCC's top marks; she finished Sunday's contest 2-4.
Mya Harrison opened the game's scoring in the second inning, hitting a 3-2 pitch over the wall in right center for a grand slam and early 4-0 lead. The Bakersfield, Calif., native added a double later in the game to finish 2-3, while the home run was her second of the year and first career grand slam.
Nikki Donahue, who scored on Harrison's long ball, hit one of her own in the next inning, crushing a ball to left to make it two home runs and nine RBI this season. After hitting 3-4 in last night's game, Honolulu, Hawaii, native finished the weekend with four hits in five at-bats.
Morgan Howey (3-4) and Paige Bambarger (two walks) joined Donahue in scoring on that Harrison grand slam, Howey's three-hit game improving her season average to .321 while Bambarger sits at .289 across 32 appearances and 27 starts.
Bailey Murray struck out four in four innings pitched but, was relieved by Amelia Streuber to start the fifth, who tossed a gem that included just one hit allowed and three strikeouts in three scoreless innings. Earning the win, Streuber is now 8-8 this season.
After a bye week next weekend, Oregon State softball returns to action in Los Angeles, Calif., to play a trio of games against LMU in the final regular season series of the 2026 season.
