• Oregon State travels back to Los Angeles, Calif. for the final tournament of 2019.
• Opponents include members from the Mountain West, Pacific Coast and Southern Conferences.

2019 SCHEDULE:
• The non-conference portion of Oregon State's 2019 schedule features a gauntlet of games over the course of five-tournaments and two non-conference games.
• OSU opened the season with the Kajikawa Classic for the ninth time in 10 years. Missouri was the only opponent to make a 2018 NCAA Regional appearance out of five.
• The Stacy Winsberg Tournament in Long Beach and Los Angeles, Calif. featured two 2018 NCAA Regional teams, Long Beach State and Ole Miss.
• The Beavers went to Norman, Okla. to face 2018 WCWS participant, Oklahoma, and NCAA Regional qualifier Louisiana  in a two-game bout on March 1.
• Oregon State also made appearances at the UOP Libby Matson Tournament and LMU Tournament before finishing out the non-conference schedule with a double-header at Portland State.
• The conference portion features six opponents that made varying finishes in the 2018 NCAA Tournament:
  - Cal - made it to regionals.
  - Arizona - ended 2018 in the super regionals.
  - Arizona State, UCLA and Oregon - made the WCWS.
  - Washington - 2018 WCWS Runner-Up.
• In total, Oregon State will face 11 opponents from the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
• 14 opponents finished with a top-100 RPI in 2018, 10 opponents had a top-50 RPI, eight had a top-25 RPI and five had a top-10 RPI.
EARLY IMPRESSIONS:
• Frankie Hammoude has made an made a name for herself in the first three weeks of the season.
• Hammoude hit a two-run homerun in her first at-bat as a Beaver in the first inning vs. CSUN.
• Hammoude hit two home runs in back-to-back games (Western Michigan and Fresno State)
• Hammoude went 4-for-4 with back-to-back home runs against Fresno State
• Hammoude finished the Kajikawa Classic with six hits, three homeruns and nine RBIs.
•Hammoude followed that up with eight hits, three homeruns and 10 RBIs at the Stacy Winsberg Tournament.
• Missy Nunes hit a home run in the first three games of the season.
• Mariah Mazon has thrown three shutouts this season (CSUN, Fresno State and Cal Baptist)
• Shelby Weeks stole her 49th and 50th career bases against Cal Baptist.
• Bailey McLaughlin hit a two-run homerun in her first game as a Beaver against Weber State.
• Meehra Nelson threw 11 strikeouts against Weber State.
• Freshman Maia Rader currently leads the Beavers with a .390 batting avg. (16-for-41).
• OSU has won every opening day game with Laura Berg at the helm.
RANKINGS:
• The Beavers broke into both National Polls following week three - USA Today/NFCA at No. 25 and ESPN.com/USA Softball tied at No. 23.
• The last time OSU was ranked in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll was week nine last season at No. 25 and the highest the Beavers were ranked last season was No. 24 during week seven.
• This is the first time since week six of the 2016 season that  OSU has been in the USA Today/NFCA poll.
• The Beavers were picked to tie for fifth in the Pac-12 Preseason Poll.
• In the Pac-12, Oregon State as a team is ranked in the following items: 1. Stolen Bases (27), 1. Triples allowed (0), 2. Lowest Runs allowed (27), 3. Hit by pitch (14), and 3. Batters struck out looking (35).
BEAVER IMPRESSIONS:
• Hammoude has recorded seven home runs, 21 RBIs, nine runs and is batting .386 through the first 16 games of the season.
• Maia Rader has also placed herself in the offensive lineup as a freshman batting .390 after starting in 15 games and being the primary shortstop.
• Mariah Mazon has led the charge for the Beavers from the circle with five wins and three shutouts.
• Mazon has recorded 48 strike outs in 46.2 innings.
• Meehra Nelson has started six games in the circle for OSU this season recording three complete games and one shutout.
• Nelson has struck out 48 batters in 39.1 innings.
• Missy Nunes, Jessica Garcia and Shelby Weeks have started all 16 games for the Beavers this season.
• Nunes is batting .313 with three doubles, three home runs and 13 RBIs.
• Garcia is batting .308 with 12 runs, nine stolen bases and three RBIs.
• Weeks is batting .281 with 11 runs, eight RBIs and is eight stolen bases away from holding the OSU career record.
• Izzy Owen, Camryn Ybarra and Chance Burden have started at least 11 games for OSU and combine for 18 hits and six runs.
• Kayleen Shafer and Bailey McLaughlin have been rotating starts behind-the-plate.
• The Beavers also add depth to the roster with playing time from Michelle Sass, Lovie Lopez, Nerissa Eason and newcomer Ashton Phillips.
COACHING PROFILES:
• Head coach Laura Berg hung up her cleats after nearly 20-years of playing softball and spent a year with the LAPD in 2010-11 before returning to the game as an assistant coach for the 2012 season at Oregon State.
• Berg enters her seventh season at the helm of the Oregon State program, recording four NCAA Tournament appearances.Â
• Berg holds a 178-1160-1 overall record and is 45-94 in Pac-12 play.
• Associate head coach Marcie Green also has experience with law enforcement. Green studied criminology at Fresno State and spent five years as a prison guard at Corcoran State Prison in California following graduation before starting to coach.
• Assistant coach Eric Leyba joins the staff after stints with the Northwest Bullets and being the head coach at Churchill High School for the past 15 years.
• Volunteer Assistant Coach Hannah Akamine is also new to the coaching staff, but not the Orange and Black. Akamine played for Berg and Green in 2015 as the starting catcher for the Beavers.
• Heather Smith also returns for her 18th season as Director of Operations.
NATIONAL SOFTBALL:
• Laura Berg has been announced as one of the Assistant Coach for the Women's National Team by USA Softball. Berg will join Howard Dobson, Tairia Flowers and WNT Head Coach Ken Eriksen for the 2019 season.
• Freshman Frankie Hammoude has been named to the 2019 USA Softball Junior Women's National Training Team for the summer of 2019.
• Sophomore Mariah Mazon will be trying out for the Mexico National Team following the 2019 regular season.
• Recent OSU Softball signee, Grace Messmer, has made the Canadian Junior Women's National Team.Â
NCAA TOURNAMENT:
• The 2018 season marked the fourth time the Beavers reached the NCAA Tournament under the direction of head coach Laura Berg, as well as the 13th time in program history.
• The Beavers are 30-22 all-time in their 13 tournament appearances following two wins and two losses at the Tuscaloosa Regional in 2018.
• The last time OSU won a regional was in 2006 when it played Nevada and No. 19 Baylor twice. OSU went on to play in the Women's College World Series that year.
• Berg and former head coach Kirk Walker (1995-2012) are the only head coaches in program history to reach the NCAA Tournament.
KNOW WHAT IT TAKES:
• Oregon State's coaching staff is no stranger when it comes to the NCAA Tournament and WCWS.
• Both Berg and Green played at Fresno State in the '90s and gained plenty of experience in the path to the WCWS.
• Coach Berg played from 1994-95 and 1997-98 making it to the WCWS three times and won the national championship in '98.
• Coach Green played from 1990-93 and appeared in three WCWS, including a runner-up finish in 1990.
• Volunteer assistant coach Hannah Akamine made the WCWS as the catcher for Tennessee in its 2013 runner-up finish.
