
Five in Arizona Await Beavers

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Venturing out of California for the first time in the 2025 season, the Oregon State softball team is set for five games in Arizona at the ASU/GCU Invitational, co-hosted by Arizona State and Grand Canyon.
The Beavers will face Arizona State, Grand Canyon, Seattle U and Utah State this week. Oregon State will play everyone but the Sun Devils once. OSU and Arizona State will have matchups to bookend the event.
By The Numbers
1: Oregon State will play outside the Pacific Time Zone for the first of two times in 2025 this week.
2: Two – Paige Bambarger and Morgan Howey – have a share in the WCC's leads in triples.
3: Three – Morgan Howey (.375), Jada Lewis (.308) and Paige Bambarger (.308) – have at least a .300 average through three weeks and 32 at-bats.
4: Jaeya Butler has a WCC-best four doubles so far this season.
10: Tristian Thompson leads the Beavs – and the WCC – with her 10 RBI.

The Opposition

• OSU will face the Sun Devils for the first time as nonconference opponents. Four meetings were split in 2024 with the Beavers taking two-of-three at Farrington Stadium.
• A future Pac-12 opponent, Utah State will be in the opposing dugout for the first time since the 2021 season.
• Facing Grand Canyon for the third year in a row, the Beavers and Lopes have split the last two.
• Seattle U will be an opponent for the second time in as many weeks. The Beavers closed the Mary Nutter with a clash against the Redhawks.

•Oregon State went .500 in six at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic last week. The Beavers defeated CSUN, Long Beach and shutout Rutgers.
• Four - Jaeya Butler, Lici Campbell, Nicole Donahue and Morgan Howey - all contributed home runs.
• Howey was named to D1Softball's All-Tournament Team following the event. She totaled 15 total bases on 10 hits which included a home run and a pair of doubles.

• OSU is all over the top (or at least near it) in the stats for the WCC.

• The new Beavs are from all over the country, spanning from Hawai'i (Donahue - Honolulu) to the New York City suburbs of New Jersey (Weir - Wayne, N.J.) and everywhere in between.
WCC Accolades
• Campbell and Donahue were tabbed to the preseason all-conference team by the WCC.
• Oregon State was selected by the league's coaches to finish third in the six-team conference.
Tough Tests in the Noncon Again
• The Beavers will have seven tests against teams in the initial top 25 of the 2025 season.
• Oregon State will face #5 Tennessee, #12 Florida State (twice), #21 California and #24 Oregon (three times) in nonconference play.
Beaver Staff Notes
• Familiar faces will be all over the Oregon State dugout in 2025.
• Entering her 13th year, Laura Berg will lead the Oregon State softball program.
• Marcie Green will direct the pitching staff for the second season of her second stint with the program. She ended her first with the trip to the Women's College World Series in 2022.
• Working primarily with the fielders and hitters, Matt Lisle is on Berg's staff for the second year. Lisle joined Oregon State following experience across college softball, baseball and even MLB's Chicago White Sox.
• Starting his journey from student manager in 2018, Dominic Garcia enters his second year as a member of the coaching staff. The Beaver alumnus worked his way up to head student manager to video coordinator in 2023 and will oversee player development, technology and data.
• Entering her fourth year with the program is Sarah Hoechlin, who serves as the Director of Operations. The OSU alumna spent two years as a student manager before a stint with the Corvallis Knights.
Looking Ahead
• Play in the Beaver State opens up next week in Eugene for the Jane Sanders Classic from Oregon's Jane Sanders Stadium.
• OSU will play Abilene Christian, Florida State (twice) and Oregon.
• The Beavers will open the weekend with two against the Seminoles (Friday and Saturday) before resuming the Rivalry Series with the Ducks and closing the event against Abilene Christian.
