Oregon State Softball Splits Games with North Dakota and San Diego State
February 14, 2026 | Softball
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Oregon State softball defeated North Dakota in five innings before falling in extras to San Diego State during day two of the 2026 Campbell Cartier Classic. With the results, OSU now sits at 4-5 on the young season with a rematch with the Aztecs scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Game one: Oregon State 8, North Dakota 0 (final/five innings)
Outstanding offense and great pitching were key to the Beavers' first five inning victory of the season. Tristian Thompson finished 2-3 with a double and home run, driving in three runs on her four-bagger in the fourth inning. Nikki Donahue was 1-2 with a walk and two RBI, hitting a double in the third inning to turn a 2-0 lead to 4-0, also scoring on a Mya Harrison triple in the first inning.
Harrison finished the game a perfect 1-1, also walking in the game, and scored in the very next at-bat after her RBI triple when Camrynn Gordon singled to left field. Jaeya Butler was 2-3 with a double and Lici Campbell scored when Rylei Trujillo grounded out to first base in the third inning.
Bailey Murray went the distance in this one, finishing her first career win and first career shutout with three strikeouts and just two hits allowed across five innings of work, while OSU's defense was perfect against the Fighting Hawks with no errors.
Game two: San Diego State 8, Oregon State 5 (final/nine innings)
Harrison hit a crucial triple in the fourth inning against SDSU, putting a 3-1 pitch into the gap in left center with the bases loaded to turn a two-run deficit into a one-run advantage. Two innings later, Madison Weir made it four runs unanswered, hitting a solo shot over the bleachers in left field to double the lead.
Weir finished the game 2-3 with a home run and base on balls while Harrison's triple put her at a team-leading three RBI for the contest.
After San Diego State tied the game in the seventh, it took just two pitches for OSU to regain an advantage off the bat of Butler, who smacked a 1-0 pitch up the middle to score Morgan Howey, who was placed at second to start the inning. SDSU leveled in the eighth, however, and walked it off in the ninth with a three-run homer.
Oregon State softball closes the Campbell Cartier Classic with a lone game against SDSU at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
