Beavers Blow By Wildcats
March 14, 2026 | Softball
CORVALLIS – Tristian Thompson hit a pair of home runs to help lift Oregon State to a 9-3 win over Weber State Saturday afternoon at Kelly Field.
Thompson's homers were her seventh and eighth of the season. Jaeya Butler also went yard in the contest, hitting her 15th of the campaign.
Mya Harrison reached in all four of her plate appearances, recording three hits and a walk. Jada Lewis and Maddy Weir finished the day with two hits apiece. Amelia Streuber allowed two earned runs in four innings to claim the win, while Bailey Murray threw three scoreless frames to lock down the Beaver victory.
Oregon State recorded 14 hits in the game, and did not commit an error. Win the win, the Beavers move to 11-20 on the season. Jordan McMahon and Jordan Hart each had three hits for the Wildcats, who move to 7-22.
Weber State struck first, scoring a pair in the top of the first, before Streuber was able to strand a pair. Oregon State answered in the bottom of the frame with a three-run Thompson bomb to dead center. The Beavers would tack on another pair to head to the second up 5-2.
Oregon State extended the lead to four with a run in the bottom of the third. Weber State pulled one back in the top of the fourth inning, but the bottom of the frame saw more Beaver power, as Butler and Thompson both hit home runs.
Lewis tallied a fifth-inning RBI double to put the Beavers up by seven, and it looked as though Oregon State might be able to end the game early when Lewis reached third base, but the Wildcats were able to record an out and extend the game. Murray continued to lock down the Weber State offense in the closing portion of the game, to secure the Beaver victory.
Oregon State will return to action Thursday for a double-header at Idaho State.
