March 08, 2026 | Softball
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon State softball was victorious in its final game of the 2026 Jane Sanders Classic, defeating Sacramento State, 8-0, in six innings.
Jada Lewis set a new single game season high for hits, batting 3-4 with a double, two RBI and one run scored. Jaeya Butler was 2-4 and tallied a team-high three RBI, including the game-clinching bunt in the sixth inning, and Paige Bambarger hit 2-3 with two runs scored.
Morgan Howey, who also made a highlight play in right field, hit 1-3, while Camryn Gordon was 1-3 and scored twice.
Amelia Streuber pitched a complete game shutout against Sacramento State, allowing three hits and throwing just 68 pitches across six innings of work. Credited with the win, Streuber is now up to a team-high five wins, while the shoutout was her second of the season.
Gordon opened the scoring with an RBI in the bottom of the fifth, and Lewis hit an infield single in front of the catcher in the next at-bat that scored Bambarger. Following Lewis' single, Butler smacked a ball down the line to score a pair of runners and put the Beavs up 4-0.
After Sacramento State grounded out in three-consecutive at-bats in the top half of the inning, Oregon State's offense piled on four more runs in the sixth thanks to Bambarger and Lewis singles and two errors by the Hornet defense, sealing the 8-0 victory.
