CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. – The Oregon State softball team dropped their final game of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic on Sunday morning, falling by a 7-5 score to Seattle U.

The Beavers' offense came alive early but could not stay hot late as the Redhawks tallied six unanswered to take the morning's win.

Jaeya Butler and Lici Campbell hit home runs, with Campbell's a two-run one that pushed the Oregon State advantage to four at 5-1 after the fifth. Seattle U chipped away before ultimately tying it at 5 after 6.0 complete.

After the Beavers went down in order in the sixth frame, the Redhawks used a bases-clearing single to centerfield that scored two and put Seattle U up for good.

Ellie Garcia (3-2) was charged with the loss after 5.2 innings of work. The senior struck out six but gave up three on eight hits. Logan Hulon tossed 1.1 innings and allowed five hits.

Paige Bambarger and Morgan Howey led the offense with two hits apiece while five others added one to the Beavers' ledger. Samantha Gutierrez's first inning single to left brought home Bambarger and Howey, who opened the game with hits.

The ASU/GCU Invite is up next for the Beavers as they will head south to Arizona. An away matchup with Arizona State is slated for this upcoming Thursday at 5 p.m. PT from the Sun Devils' Farrington Stadium and can be seen on ESPN+.
